Cristián Salineros F. (1969) Santiago, Chile.

He studied printmaking at Taller de Artes Visuales (T.A.V.) Chile. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts, with a Major in Sculpture from Universidad Arcis, Chile. In 2003 he was awarded a DAAD Academic Interchange Scholarship (Germany) to carry out postgraduate studies at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he developed projects under the tutorial of Daniel Buren, Magdalena Jetelovà and Rita McBride.

He has shown his work individually and in group shows both in Chile and abroad. Notable among these are individual exhibitions at the Göttingen Kunstverein, Germany; at the Joachim Gallery in Berlin, Germany, at Galeria 713 Arte Contemporaneo, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Riffe Gallery, Ohio, USA; Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, DKM Museum , Germay., Patricia Ready gallery, Chile , El Museo gallery , Bogota, Colombia and SP Arte Sao Paulo, Brasil.

He has been awarded project funding by the National Fund for the Development of the Arts (FONDART) on four occasions and has received funding from the Friends of the Arts on two occasions; among other prizes he received the Altazor prize in 2003 and other major awards such as the first prize from the Telefónica Foundation sculpture competition and second prize at the Deutsche Bank Förderpreis für Skulptur (Germany), first prize from the Ministry of Public Works, He has been commissioned important works for the public space.

He has participated in the Santa Cruz de la Sierra biennial in Bolivia and in the Paiz Biennial of Guatemala City in Guatemala.

He has participated in several artist residencies, such as the Mosam Art Museum in South Korea, in the residence of the Museum of Modern Art in Chiloé, Chile, among others.

He is the director of the International Program of Invited Artists of the School of Art of the Catholic University of Chile.

Since the year 2000, he has held several academic positions at college level and as Director of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Thesis. He has been juror and project evaluator in various competitions and competitive funding awards both in Chile and abroad.

His work can be found in public and private collections in Chile and abroad.
