Cristián Salineros F. (1969) Santiago, Chile.
Cristián Salineros studied printmaking at Taller de Artes Visuales (T.A.V.) Chile. He holds a Fine Arts degree specializing in Sculpture from Universidad Arcis. In 2003 he received a DAAD scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, Germany.
His work has been exhibited individually both in Chile and abroad, in venues such as Göttingen Kunstverein (Germany), Joachim Gallery, (Berlin, Germany), Galería 713 Arte Contemporáneo, (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Riffe Gallery, (Ohio, USA), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, (Bolivia), DKM Museum, (Duisburg, Germany), Galería Patricia Ready, (Chile), Galería El Museo, (Bogotá, Colombia), SP Arte São Paulo, (Brazil), NC-Arte, (Bogotá, Colombia) , and Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, (Santiago, Chile).
He has received the National Found for the Development of the Arts five times and among other recognitions, he was allocated the Altazor Award in 2003. He has also been granted with the Sculpture Award from Fundación Telefónica, the second place on the Deutsche Bank Förderpreis für Skulptur at Germany, and the first prize of the Public Works Ministry in Chile.
He has developed important pieces for public spaces, participated at the Santa Cruz de la Sierra Biennial in Bolivia, and the Paiz Biennial from Guatemala City.
Since the year 2000, he has held several positions in academia at the University level, and he is currently the Director of the International Programm for Guest Artists from the Art School of Universidad Católica de Chile.
His work can be found in private and public collections in Chile and abroad.
