OTHER PERIPHERIES

“Other Peripheries” is an exhibition linked to space and constructive systems where the reference to birds permits the confirmation of certain social behaviours.

In that sense and from a more formal point of view, the exhibition consists of a group of 5 large format three-dimensional works and two medium- format pieces, a series of three drawings, 3 videos and a soundtrack. Some of these pieces involve the production of excrement by birds and the conditions in which this occurs, appealing to the logics of use of space, communications and certain aspects of geography and spatial politics.

Although in general the exhibition utilizes the reference to birds as an element to articulate the ensemble, unlike other works of mine, on this occa- sion the birds are (physically speaking) quite absent; somehow this presence has been abstracted or emptied, generating a “periphery” in relation to such behaviours.
